Being physically active is one of the most important things you can do for your health. Physical activity helps you to maintain a healthy body weight, enhances immune function, improves your overall mental and emotional wellbeing, and reduces your risk for developing a variety of chronic conditions. A stronger more fit body means less risk of falling, less risk of injury, greater stress tolerance, and greater energy and endurance. The fitness services at Kaiser Permanente’s Positive Choice Integrative Wellness Center are designed to help San Diego residents of all ages, shapes, and sizes begin working towards a healthier way of life one step at a time. SECA – Body Composition Analysis
The Positive Choice Integrative Wellness Center has one of the most sophisticated body analysis machines available on the market today. Much more than just a body fat measurement, the SECA Body Composition Analyzer measures body composition using many frequencies of electro-magnetic waves that allow for accurate body composition measurement equal in accuracy to the gold standards of DEXA, hydrostatic weighing, and the Bod Pod – air displacement. The best part is you don’t have to undress and the test takes only 20 seconds. In addition to determining with accuracy your muscle mass, body fat, and body water composition, the SECA analyzer can also tell you information about the strength in each of your limbs, whether the fluid in your body is in or out side your cells (hydration v.s. water retention), accurately estimates daily caloric needs, and gives a measure on overall cell health – a strong indicator of health status.
Comprehensive Analysis: $55
Provides an in-depth analysis of muscle mass, fat mass, visceral fat, body fluid balance, cellular health, and estimation of calories. The test takes about 2-3 minutes, 20 minutes is spent discussing the results.
30 minute SECA 3 Pack $150
A bundle of three 30 minute SECA appointments. These appointments provide the same information as the Basic Analysis — 30 minute test, and they can be used whenever you’d like: i.e. a baseline test, a midpoint test, and a final body composition test during weight loss.
