THE SKINNY ON DIETARY FATS
Friday, February 3, 2017 from 6 to 7:00 pm
Fats are probably one of the more misunderstood macro-nutrients. Higher in calories per gram than protein or carbohydrate and long-linked to heart disease, fats have been avoided by many. But the research shows us that fats are important, and there are different kinds of fat that benefit your health in different ways. Certain fats lower your risk of cancers and heart disease. Other types of fat are needed for a healthy brain and to slow down aging. Melanie Keezer, MS will speak on fats: the different kinds, where to find them, and why it is important to have fats in your diet.
