A Thought-Full Life

A Thought-Full Life

Did you know that you have about 50,000 to 70,000 thoughts every day? That’s nearly 50 thoughts per minute, more than one per second. You would think (pun intended) that with all that activity you would have a tremendously productive life, but research indicates that you repeat about 98% of the same thoughts every day. If you are like the average person your inner world and productivity is further hindered by the fact that as much as 80% of your thoughts are critical and negative.

Keeping It Off

Keeping It Off

Weight loss is hard to achieve, but research clearly shows us that the true challenge is maintaining a weight loss. Some studies estimate that as many as two-thirds of people who lose weight will gain a majority of it back within three years. If you have ever struggled with your weight you may have already experienced this.

As depressing as these statistics are, remember that there are people out there who are defying the odds and long-term weight maintenance is achievable. In the Positive Choice Integrative Weight Management Programs we have been able to better the odds for most people. Three years after losing weight, 50% of our participants are maintaining all or most of their weight loss, another 25% are maintaining two-thirds or more of their weight loss.

Live Strong, Live Long.

Live Strong, Live Long.

Starting as early as in our thirties our bodies can begin to lose muscle mass. By middle age we may only notice it by struggles with our weight, but as we advance into our senior years, as we lose muscle we begin to find it harder to get up out of a chair, navigate stairs, stand for long periods of time, and with over all balance. The greatest indicator of how long we will be able to live independently is how much muscle mass we have been able to maintain because muscle keeps us in balance and helps us to avoid falls. But that isn’t the only benefit muscle mass gives us. Research tells us that maintaining strong muscles also contributes greatly to strong bones, and preventing diseases like diabetes and heart disease.
