Deva Plumlee, M.S., CEP

Healthy Balance and Nutrition/Fitness Supervising Health Educator

I am an exercise physiologist, nutritionist, and educator. I supervise the Healthy Balance Full Food Weight Management Program and Nutrition/Fitness services at the Positive Choice integrative wellness Center. When I am working with people my philosophy is “Use your strengths to build small healthy habits into a healthy lifestyle.”  Whether you are striving for a weight goal or working to gain ground with your heart health or diabetes I will give you the tools, support and education you need to take you all the way. Life is your biggest challenge, train to beat it.

Anneliese Piazza, MS, CPT

Exercise Physiologist, Certified Personal Trainer

Whether your goal is to lose weight, build strength, or run a marathon, Anneliese can help you identify your obstacles and develop an effective, long-term plan to get you to your goal. Anneliese has over 10 years experience in the health and fitness field as a group fitness instructor, blog author, and personal trainer. As someone who has overcome weight and eating issues, she believes that by using healthy habits and self-talk as a catalyst that we can drastically improve all aspects of our lives. She specializes in injury rehab/prevention, emotional eating strategies, and strength and conditioning.

Provides the following services: Exercise/Nutrition Consultation, H.E.A.T. — Healthy Eating and Training, Metabolic Rate Testing, VO2 Max Performance Testing, Healthy Balance, Nutrition and Fitness Forum (Tuesdays at 11:45 am) 


Norma L. Solomon, BS, AS

Lifestyle Educator/Fitness and Yoga Specialist

Norma has worked at Kaiser Permanente since 1987.  “I see my role as spreading positive energy and motivation to the people I work with so that they live well, stay active, believe in themselves, and connect that they are beautiful!”

Norma has worked at the Positive Choice Itegrative Wellness Center for 18 years and at Kaiser Permanente for 31 years.  She is a Body Analysis Specialist, helping people who are entering the medical weight management programs and helps set their target goal weights. In the fitness department, she has 34 years experience as a group certified exercise instructor and leads classes such as strength training, chair yoga, and Iyengar Yoga.

Provides the following services: Muscle Toning, Simple Yoga, Yoga, Body Age Testing, Exercise Memberships

Registered Dietitian, Certified Personal Trainer

Kari  has worked at the Positive Choice Integrative Wellness Center since 1995. “Everyone has the potential to achieve wellness,” Kari specializes in assisting clients develop life-long plans to build lean muscle, burn body fat, and create a palette for tasty, nutritious foods. She implements current science, as well as sensitivity, to help her clients achieve their goals and maintain a healthy life balance.

“Fitness is so much more than just exercise; it changes every aspect of your life in a positive way” As a Health Educator and Fitness Coach for over 25 years, Lizzy has worked with a wide range of clientele including cardiac rehabilitation, weight management, senior fitness, prenatal/postnatal exercise, corporate fitness, and elite athletes.  She trains her clients with patience, passion, and attention to detail maximizing results while minimizing injury.  She keeps her clients’ nutrition goals in mind when designing flexibility, strength, balance, and cardiovascular fitness routines specific to each individual.  Whether your goal is weight loss or training for your first triathlon… Lizzy can get you to the finish line!

Exercise Physiologist

“Health goals can vary from person to person, but regardless of your goal, creating and maintaining healthy habits are the key to living a healthier life! If you put your mind to it, you can do it!”
Melanie has been involved with group fitness, personal training, and fitness education for over 6 years. After struggling with weight and eating issues for years, she has found strategies and built healthy habits to overcome these issues. Melanie assists people with goal-setting and developing personalized workout plans, whether it is for a gym or even exercises that can be done at home. She believes that exercise is the greatest tool you can use to improve your overall health and wellness. She specializes in strength and conditioning, stress management skills, and emotional eating strategies.

Dietitian and Certified Fitness Specialist

I have worked for Kaiser Permanente’s Positive Choice Integrative Wellness Center since 1998. I facilitate groups in the Maintenance Program and the Partial Fasting Weight Loss Program. I also do individual nutrition and fitness counseling in the free Nutrition/Fitness Forum sessions. I enjoy working for Positive Choice because it allows me to use my talents to help others reach their health goals. I strive to listen to each person with compassion and caring and I approach weight loss holistically. My training as a dietitian, personal trainer, and in mindfulness gives me the tools I need to work with my clients to help them realize success with their nutrition, exercise, and fitness goals.

I feel the main ingredient for success in any weight management program is support. This is what I work to create in my classes. I feel it’s my unique way with how I connect with people and help them to connect with others that is key to keeping them motivated and inspired to continue on a healthy journey.

Real health is about the quality of our lives and its quality that I focus on the most.
