Ways to Lose Weight

Positive Choice Weight Management Fasting Program
If you choose this program, you will lose weight on one of two weight loss food plans, either a full fast or partial fast (see descriptions below). As you lose weight, you attend weekly group sessions where you will participate in discussions and activities that focus on the behavioral and psychological reasons that people overeat and the role food plays in your life. Activities such as creative writing, role playing, and visualizations are used to help you:

Once you have achieved your weight loss, you will attend a pre-paid, weekly Maintenance Program for 10 weeks and then a monthly support group for 9 months. The Maintenance Program provides opportunities for practice with making healthy food choices, as well as reinforcing the other life changes made during the weight loss phase.

Full Fast, if you chose this plan you'll replace all food with a liquid supplement that provides complete nutrition. The liquid supplement allows for safe, rapid weight loss without fatigue or hunger. Average weekly weight loss is three to five pounds.

You must have 40 pounds or more to lose to qualify for the full fast.

Partial Fast, if choose this plan, you will take three liquid supplements and eat one commercially or self-prepared meal per day. This plan provides a structured, daily intake of calories and fat in controlled portions (1,000 to 1,200 calories per day). The average weekly weight loss is one to three pounds.

There is no weight requirement for this plan.

The Positive Choice Nutrition Program
(Full Food and Partial Fast Weight Loss
Food Plans)

If you choose the Nutrition Program at Positive Choice you will attend a 15-week program designed for losing weight using either a full food plan or a partial food weight loss plan (three liquid supplements and either one frozen entrée or self-prepared meal per day). As you attend weekly support group sessions, you will learn nutrition and fitness education, behavior modification, and stress management. The focus is on helping you develop a lifestyle that will keep the weight off.

If you choose to lose weight using a full food plan, you will work with a provider individually adjusting your diet to provide you with satisfying amounts of food while you eat less fat and fewer caloreis. Average weekly weight loss on the full food is one to two pounds.

Active Wellness
Unfortunately it is easier to know what to do to lose weight than to actually do it! That is why a supportive group, where everyone is trying to achieve the same goals, can be so motivating. In the Active Wellness Program, each 2-hour class includes one hour of exercise (cardiovascular training, weight training, and stretching) and one hour of group discussion and education that focuses on putting into action the behaviors and strategies that work for weight loss and wellness
.

Exercise and Nutrition Consultation
Do you need help losing weight or want a solid plan for health and weight maintenance? In an Exercise and Nutrition Consult you receive individualized care from an exercise physiologist with a degree in nutrition who will help develop a fitness/nutrition routine geared to reach your specific health goals. You can even use your time in the consult as a personal training session and learn proper exercise techniques,etc.
